Sterlite Electric has announced the appointment of Frederic Andre M Trefois as its Group Chief Executive Officer, marking a key leadership transition as the company prepares for its next phase of growth.
Trefois, who previously served as a Non-Executive Independent Director on the company’s board, brings extensive experience in managing and overseeing global businesses. In his new role, he will lead Sterlite Electric’s strategic expansion and strengthen its position in the evolving power transmission and grid infrastructure sector.
Commenting on the appointment, Pratik Agarwal, Managing Director of Sterlite Electric, said Trefois’ global perspective and sector expertise come at a crucial time when power grids worldwide are undergoing rapid transformation. He added that Trefois’ leadership will support the company’s focus on delivering reliable, affordable, and sustainable power solutions.
Speaking on his new role, Frederic Trefois highlighted the growing need for intelligent and resilient grid systems as energy networks become increasingly digital and interconnected. He noted that Sterlite Electric aims to develop solutions that enhance asset performance, improve reliability, and enable smarter capital investments while embedding sustainability into infrastructure development.
Prior to joining Sterlite Electric, Trefois was associated with Sécheron Hasler Group and SNC-Lavalin Inc.. He is a trained engineer with a background in civil engineering.
The appointment underscores Sterlite Electric’s intent to strengthen leadership capabilities as it expands its role in supporting global energy transition and grid modernization efforts.
