NTPC Limited has announced an expansion in its renewable energy capacity through a regulatory filing dated April 1, 2026. The update highlights new project milestones achieved by its subsidiary NTPC Green Energy Limited, marking steady progress in the companyโs clean energy journey.
The developments are part of projects being handled by Ayana Renewable Power Four Private Limited, which operates under the joint venture ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited. Both projects are located in Gujarat and are focused on increasing solar and hybrid renewable capacity.
In one of the projects, the fourth phase of a 150 MW solar installation has been completed, adding 37.5 MW of solar capacity to the grid. At the same time, progress has been made in a hybrid energy project, where the seventh phase of a 100 MW project has been commissioned. This phase contributes 13.2 MW of wind capacity and is part of a larger setup that includes 92.4 MW of wind and 37.5 MW of solar power. Both capacities are scheduled to become commercially operational from midnight of April 2, 2026.
With these additions, the total commercial capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited group has reached 10,075.70 MW, while its installed capacity stands at 10,126.40 MW. These figures reflect the companyโs consistent efforts to scale up renewable energy assets across the country.
The impact of these developments is also visible at the group level. The overall installed capacity of NTPC has increased to 89,145 MW, and its total commercial capacity has risen to 88,065 MW. This expansion strengthens the companyโs position in Indiaโs power sector and supports the national goal of increasing clean energy adoption.
