Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has invited bids for a specialized project at its Ahmedabad Asset, focusing on improving operational efficiency in its oil production systems. The project involves the design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of two Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) for Sucker Rod Pump (SRP) wells. Along with the installation work, the selected contractor will also be responsible for five years of operation and maintenance (O&M) services.
The tender, identified as D16DC26008, is being processed through the GePNIC Central Public Procurement Portal under a two-bid system. It is categorized as an open tender under local competitive bidding for a works contract. Due to this classification, certain policies, such as benefits for Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) and the Public Procurement (Preference to Make in India) policy, will not be applicable.
ONGC has outlined a clear schedule for the bidding process. The registration for the tender began on April 1, 2026, at 18:30 hrs IST. Interested bidders can submit their technical or procedural queries via email until April 11, 2026, by 18:00 hrs IST. The final deadline for submission of both online bids and physical documents is April 22, 2026, at 15:00 hrs IST. The opening of un-priced techno-commercial bids, along with physical document verification, is scheduled for April 23, 2026, at 15:30 hrs IST.
To participate in the tender, bidders are required to submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs. 77,000. This can be paid through electronic modes such as NEFT or RTGS to ONGCโs designated State Bank of India account at the Chandkheda branch. Alternatively, bidders can provide an irrevocable Electronic Bank Guarantee or an Insurance Surety Bond.
The contractor selected for the project will also need to submit a Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG). This includes a security deposit of 10% of the SITC contract value, valid for 19 months, and an additional 3% of the O&M contract value, valid for 63 months. This guarantee must be submitted within 30 days from the date of contract award.
The total duration for completing the primary project is 120 days. Bidders must submit their price bids in the prescribed Excel format, ensuring that all costs, including taxes and GST, are included. For any assistance, ONGC has provided contact details of designated officials to support bidders during the process.
