Sunsure Energy has signed three consecutive long-term solar open-access power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Wonder Cement, marking a significant step in advancing industrial renewable energy adoption across India.

Under the agreements, Sunsure Energy has commenced supply of clean power to Wonder Cement’s facilities in Dhule and Aligarh. The power is being sourced from Sunsure’s 150 MWp solar plant in Solapur and its 49 MWp facility in Augasi.

The repeat partnership reflects continued collaboration between the two companies and underscores growing confidence in multi-state renewable energy execution under the open-access model.

With the implementation of these PPAs, Wonder Cement is expected to replace approximately 67% of its electricity consumption at the Dhule plant and 52% at the Aligarh facility, significantly reducing dependence on conventional grid power. The transition is projected to offset around 33,000 metric tonnes of CO₂ emissions annually, equivalent to the environmental benefit of planting nearly 1.5 million trees.

Kiran Patil, Managing Director of Wonder Cement, stated that sustainability remains a core operational priority, with renewable energy integration playing a key role in reducing environmental impact. He noted that the continued partnership with Sunsure Energy supports the company’s transition toward low-carbon operations.

Shashank Sharma, Founder, Chairman and CEO of Sunsure Energy, highlighted that the agreements demonstrate the company’s capability to deliver reliable renewable energy solutions across multiple states. He added that the cement sector’s energy transition will be critical in shaping India’s broader sustainable development trajectory, and partnerships such as this set benchmarks for industrial decarbonisation.

The development also aligns with Sunsure Energy’s broader initiatives, including its regional clean energy missions in Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra, aimed at supporting industrial growth through sustainable power solutions.
