DNV has announced the integration of its wind and solar data management platforms, Resource Panorama and GPM Horizon, to strengthen data traceability in renewable energy projects and support project bankability.

The move comes as financial institutions increase scrutiny of pre-construction measurement data used in project financing. Accurate and comprehensive resource assessments are critical in demonstrating a projectโ€™s ability to generate sufficient energy over its operational lifetime. Any inconsistencies or gaps in data can lead to delays in financing, higher capital costs, or challenges during bankability evaluations.

The integrated platform combines meteorological data management with asset monitoring capabilities, enabling developers to handle large volumes of project data more efficiently. It automates equipment monitoring and applies data quality algorithms across both wind and solar assets.

According to the company, the system provides real-time tracking of sensor performance, communication links, and power systems, while automatically identifying and flagging faults. Data collected from field instruments is reviewed by analysts before being finalized, ensuring a traceable and validated dataset for project stakeholders.

Juan Carlos Arรฉvalo, Executive Vice-President, Digital & Data Solutions, Energy Systems at DNV, stated that maintaining high data quality remains essential despite the need for rapid project development. He added that the integration provides a unified source of validated data that developers can present to lenders with greater confidence.

The platform processes data from tens of thousands of measurement stations globally and handles more than 10 billion data points per second across its asset management systems. This reflects the growing scale of operational data as renewable energy capacity continues to expand.

With the integration, DNV now offers data management capabilities across the full project lifecycle, from early-stage site assessments to commercial operations. The development aligns the companyโ€™s digital and advisory services with evolving project data workflows, particularly as developers operate across multiple markets and face increasing pressure to deliver finance-ready assessments in a capital-constrained environment.

Introduced in 2010, Resource Panorama supports data management for meteorological masts, remote sensing devices, and solar monitoring stations throughout the lifecycle of renewable energy projects.
