The Ministry of Power has announced an extension for submitting Renewable Consumption Obligation (RCO) compliance details for the financial year 2024โ25. As per a letter issued on April 16, 2026, the new deadline for obligated entities has been moved to May 31, 2026.
This decision comes after several requests from Designated Consumers submitted through the Bureau of Energy Efficiency. These entities highlighted operational challenges that made it difficult to complete and submit their compliance data on time. Considering these concerns, the competent authority approved a two-month extension to allow stakeholders to provide accurate and complete information.
The communication has been shared with key institutions such as the Central Electricity Authority, State Electricity Regulatory Commissions, and DISCOMs. It has also been circulated among leading industry bodies, including FICCI, CII, and ASSOCHAM.
The Ministry has further instructed its technical team to update the official website with this announcement. Obligated entities are advised to make full use of this extended timeline and ensure the timely submission of their compliance reports by the revised deadline.
