Renewable energy specialist Samaiden Group Bhd has successfully completed a complex solar photovoltaic (PV) project for Nippon Electric Glass (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd (NEGM). The project highlights Samaidenโ€™s strong capabilities in engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC), especially for large corporate clients looking to shift toward clean energy.

What makes this installation different is the use of two solar technologies in one system. It combines traditional rooftop solar panels with building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV). While rooftop panels are installed on top of buildings, BIPV replaces standard construction materials like roofs or walls and generates electricity at the same time. This approach allows the building itself to become a source of energy, making better use of available space and improving efficiency.

The environmental benefits of the project are significant. The solar system is expected to reduce NEGMโ€™s carbon dioxide emissions by about 6,900 tonnes every year. This step supports the companyโ€™s Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) goals, which focus on reducing environmental impact and promoting sustainable operations. It also shows how industrial companies can take practical steps to lower their carbon footprint.

Ken Hamajima said the solar installation is an important move in the companyโ€™s sustainability journey. He explained that the project is not only about saving energy costs but also about taking real action against climate change. According to him, the company wants to grow responsibly without harming the environment.

At the same time, Datuk Chow Pui Hee shared that the company is proud to be part of this project. She said it can serve as a good example for other large companies. By adopting advanced solar solutions, businesses can turn their sustainability plans into real results.

The successful completion of this project strengthens Samaidenโ€™s position as a reliable partner for companies planning to adopt renewable energy. As more businesses aim to reduce emissions and follow greener practices, the demand for innovative solar solutions is increasing. This project shows that with the right technology and planning, companies can effectively move toward clean and sustainable energy.
