Larsen & Toubro has secured a major batch of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) orders for its Power Transmission & Distribution (PT&D) business in the Middle East, further strengthening its global presence in the energy infrastructure sector. The company announced on May 13, 2026, that the newly awarded contracts involve the construction of one 380 kV extra-high voltage substation and two 132 kV substations.
The projects are aimed at supporting the growing power demand across key load centers in the region. The new substations are expected to improve the reliability of electricity supply while also helping utilities reduce congestion in existing power transmission networks. As electricity consumption continues to rise in the Middle East, these infrastructure upgrades are considered important for maintaining grid stability and ensuring uninterrupted power distribution.
According to the company, the projects have been awarded on a turnkey basis, meaning the PT&D business will handle the complete execution process, including engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and commissioning. The contracts are also expected to be delivered within strict timelines, highlighting the company’s capability in managing complex infrastructure projects efficiently.
L&T’s PT&D division is known globally for offering technology-driven solutions across the power transmission and distribution value chain. The business has built expertise in areas such as smart transmission systems, grid modernization, renewable energy integration, and electrification projects. The division currently operates in over 30 countries across regions, including the Middle East, Africa, ASEAN, and North America, serving utilities, renewable energy developers, and industrial customers.
The company classifies the latest orders as “Significant,” indicating a contract value ranging between ₹1,000 crore and ₹2,500 crore. The order further strengthens L&T’s position in the global EPC market and reflects increasing international demand for advanced energy infrastructure solutions.
With a strong focus on digital energy technologies and AI-driven systems, L&T continues to expand its role in modernizing power networks worldwide. The latest contracts also underline the company’s commitment to supporting reliable, efficient, and sustainable electricity infrastructure across global markets.
