Bajel Projects Limited has secured a major order for a 765kV Air Insulated Substation (AIS) package in Maharashtra, strengthening its presence in Indiaโs high-voltage transmission infrastructure sector.
The project is part of the โNetwork Expansion Scheme in Maharashtra for removal of Transmission constraints in Pune Region-I (765/400 kV AIS Pune East),โ aimed at enhancing grid reliability and addressing transmission bottlenecks in the Pune region, one of the countryโs key industrial and power demand centres.
Under the scope of work, Bajel will establish a new 765/400kV AIS substation at Pune East and undertake extensions of the existing 400kV Karjat AIS and 400kV Lonikand-II AIS substations in Maharashtra.
According to the company, the order further strengthens its portfolio in the 765kV substation segment and reflects its continued focus on executing large-scale high-voltage transmission projects across India.
Commenting on the development, Rajesh Ganesh said the project marks a significant milestone for the company in expanding its capabilities within the 765kV substation space. He added that the Pune East substation and related augmentation works are expected to play a key role in removing transmission constraints and reinforcing Maharashtraโs power grid infrastructure.
Bajel classified the project as a โMajor Orderโ under its internal project categorization framework, which includes contracts valued between Rs. 200 crore and Rs. 300 crore, inclusive of GST.
