NTPC Limited has announced a fresh addition to its renewable energy portfolio with the commercial commissioning of new solar power capacities in Rajasthan. The development was officially disclosed through a regulatory filing submitted to the stock exchanges under SEBIโs Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015. The filing, dated May 14, 2026, highlighted that the new capacities were commissioned by subsidiaries operating under NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL).
According to the disclosure, the projects are being executed through step-down subsidiaries of ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited, a joint venture functioning under NGEL. The first project involves the commissioning of 12.5 MW capacity from an overall 150 MW solar project in Rajasthan. This project is being developed by Project Eleven Renewable Power Private Limited. With the latest addition, the cumulative commissioned capacity of the project has now increased to 100 MW.
In another development, Project Sixteen Renewable Power Private Limited has operationalized a 50 MW block from its larger 300 MW solar project in Rajasthan. Following this commissioning, the total operational capacity of the project has reached 200 MW. Both newly added capacities officially began commercial operations from midnight on May 15, 2026.
The latest additions have further strengthened the renewable energy portfolio of the NGEL Group. After the commissioning of these solar capacities, the total operational commercial capacity of the NTPC Green Energy Limited Group has risen to 10,453.90 MW. Meanwhile, the total installed capacity of the NGEL Group has increased to 10,516.40 MW.
The development also marks another major step in Indiaโs ongoing clean energy transition, as NTPC continues to expand its renewable energy footprint across the country. With these latest solar additions, the total installed capacity of the overall NTPC Group has reached 89,868 MW, while the total commercial capacity now stands at 88,788 MW.
The regulatory filings were formally signed and acknowledged by the respective compliance officials of the companies. Ritu Arora, Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of NTPC Limited, signed the parent company disclosure. The subsidiary-level filing for NTPC Green Energy Limited was signed by Deepak C.S., who serves as the Company Secretary and Compliance Officer of the renewable energy arm.
