Saudi Arabia’s National Energy Services Company Tarshid, through one of its subsidiaries, has signed a development agreement with Al Taiseer Group TALCO Industrial Company to develop a 4.5-MW rooftop solar photovoltaic project for TALCO’s industrial facilities in Riyadh. The agreement was signed under the patronage of Saudi Authority for Industrial Cities and Technology Zones (MODON) as part of ongoing efforts to accelerate clean energy adoption across the Kingdom’s industrial sector.

Under the agreement, Tarshid will conduct studies and develop a solar PV system across four TALCO facilities in Riyadh. The project will utilize nearly 37,000 square metres of rooftop space and integrate the solar infrastructure with existing energy systems to improve operational efficiency while delivering a reliable source of sustainable electricity.

The initiative marks one of TALCO’s largest sustainability-focused developments and aligns with MODON’s “Green MODON Initiative,” which encourages factories in industrial cities to adopt clean energy technologies, expand green spaces, and strengthen sustainable industrial ecosystems across Saudi Arabia.

Waled bin Abdullah Al Ghreri, Board Member and CEO of Tarshid, said the agreement reflects the company’s commitment to supporting industrial decarbonisation through clean energy solutions that generate long-term operational savings and improve sustainability performance. He added that the partnership serves as a national model for collaboration between industrial and energy sectors in advancing sustainable development goals.

Suliman bin Saleh Al Oufi, CEO of Al Taiseer Group TALCO Industrial Company, stated that the partnership demonstrates the importance of collaborating with organisations that share a commitment to sustainable and energy-efficient solutions capable of creating long-term economic value beyond industrial operations and into the broader national economy.

The agreement further strengthens Tarshid’s role in advancing sustainable energy deployment across industrial and commercial sectors in line with Public Investment Fund-backed sustainability initiatives and the Kingdom’s Saudi Vision 2030 objectives focused on energy efficiency, emissions reduction, and clean energy transition.
