SPML Infra Limited has secured a contract worth ₹165.41 crore from Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Limited (RRVPNL) for the development of a 400 kV grid substation and transmission infrastructure project at Dahra in Kota, Rajasthan.
According to the company, the project is scheduled to be completed within 24 months and further strengthens SPML Infra’s presence in India’s high-capacity power transmission and substation sector.
The scope of work includes the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a 400 kV grid substation equipped with one 500 MVA autotransformer bay. The project will also include a 420 kV, 125 MVAR bus-type shunt reactor bay, two 400 kV feeder bays, three 400 kV tie bays, along with associated civil works, automation, and communication systems.
Rajasthan is among India’s leading renewable energy-producing states, and the expansion of high-voltage transmission infrastructure is considered critical for supporting the evacuation and transmission of renewable and conventional power across the region’s rapidly growing grid network.
Commenting on the development, Abhinandan Sethi, Managing Director of SPML Infra Limited, said the project represents another milestone in the company’s commitment to strengthening India’s power infrastructure and supporting the country’s evolving energy landscape.
The company stated that the order complements its growing power infrastructure portfolio, including its Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) business, while reinforcing its focus on government-backed infrastructure projects across its water, power, and energy storage verticals.
