AboitizPower and the Misamis Occidental I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (MOELCI-I) recently formalized a new Emergency Power Supply Agreement (EPSA) to help ensure continuous and reliable electricity for communities in Misamis Occidental. The ceremonial signing was attended by leaders from both organizations, including AboitizPower Head of Revenue Operations James Yu and MOELCI-I General Manager Engr. Guilvin Medina, together with their respective management teams.
The agreement was established through Therma South, Inc. (TSI), a subsidiary of Aboitiz Power Corporation. Under this EPSA, TSI will provide two megawatts of emergency power to MOELCI-I. This supply is intended to support the electricity needs of customers in Oroquieta City as well as the municipalities of Aloran, Lopez Jaena, Plaridel, Calamba, Baliangao, Sapang Dalaga, and Concepcion. With increasing demand and ongoing energy challenges in the region, this additional power supply aims to help maintain stable service, especially during critical situations.
This EPSA is the first of its kind for TSI, marking an important development in the company’s efforts to support local electric cooperatives. MOELCI-I General Manager Engr. Guilvin Medina shared that their partnership with AboitizPower has been built on trust and consistent performance. He noted that TSI has been a dependable power provider for more than a decade, and this new agreement further strengthens that relationship.AboitizPower Head of Revenue Operations James Yu also emphasized the importance of their long-term collaboration with MOELCI-I.
He explained that AboitizPower’s commitment goes beyond supplying electricity, as the company continuously works to support its partners during times when they need reliable power the most.
