NLC India Limited has announced the formation of a new joint venture company through its wholly-owned subsidiary, NLC India Renewables Limited, in partnership with the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC). The newly established company has been named NIRL NCRTC Renewables Limited and will focus on the development of grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) power projects.
The joint venture marks an important development in the renewable energy sector as both public sector organizations aim to strengthen their clean energy initiatives and contribute to Indiaโs sustainable growth plans. The company will be engaged in the installation, operation, and management of solar PV projects that will supply renewable power to the regional electricity grid.
As part of the agreement, NLC India Renewables Limited will hold a majority stake of 74 percent in the new entity, while NCRTC will own the remaining 26 percent equity. The partnership combines the renewable energy expertise of NLC India with NCRTCโs transport infrastructure network, creating opportunities for integrated clean energy solutions.
The formation of NIRL NCRTC Renewables Limited is expected to support the expansion of renewable energy capacity while helping reduce carbon emissions. The solar projects developed under the joint venture will contribute to cleaner power generation and support the countryโs broader sustainability and energy transition goals.
The collaboration also highlights the growing role of public sector enterprises in promoting renewable energy development across India. With increasing demand for clean and reliable power, such partnerships are expected to play a key role in strengthening green infrastructure and supporting long-term environmental objectives.
The announcement reflects the continued commitment of both NLC India and NCRTC toward adopting sustainable energy solutions and accelerating the growth of solar energy projects in the country.
