Oswal Pumps Limited has secured three major Letters of Award (LOAs) from North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (NBPDCL) and South Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited (SBPDCL) for the development of rooftop solar projects across Bihar. The projects have been awarded under the PM Surya Ghar – Muft Bijli Yojana, a flagship scheme of the Government of India aimed at encouraging the adoption of solar energy in households. The company announced the development on June 14, 2026.

Under the awarded contracts, Oswal Pumps will install grid-connected rooftop solar systems with a combined capacity of 63 MW in the Motihari, Saharsa, and Ara circles of Bihar. The projects are expected to benefit around 57,492 consumers, making them one of the largest residential rooftop solar initiatives in the state.

According to the company, the installation orders are valued at approximately Rs. 247 crore. In addition to the installation revenue, the projects are expected to generate around Rs. 257 crore in long-term income over a period of ten years through power supply under the Renewable Energy Service Company (RESCO) model. The combined revenue opportunity from these projects is estimated to exceed Rs. 500 crore.

The projects will be executed under a CAPEX plus RESCO model. Oswal Pumps will undertake the complete scope of work, including design, engineering, procurement, manufacturing, transportation, installation, testing, commissioning, financing, and maintenance of the rooftop solar systems. The company will also provide data acquisition and communication systems to enable centralized monitoring by the state’s power distribution companies.

Apart from installing the systems, Oswal Pumps will be responsible for operating and maintaining the projects for a period of ten years after commissioning. As per the contract terms, all installations are expected to be completed within nine months from the signing of the respective Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs).

The rooftop solar systems are expected to provide significant benefits to participating households. The company estimates that each beneficiary household will receive nearly 15,000 units of solar power during the contract period, helping reduce electricity expenses and dependence on conventional power sources.

Commenting on the achievement, Vivek Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of Oswal Pumps Limited, said that the order represents an important milestone in the company’s growth journey. He stated that the project strengthens the company’s position in the distributed solar energy segment while also diversifying its revenue stream beyond the PM Kusum programme. He added that the company remains committed to supporting India’s clean energy transition through decentralized and sustainable energy solutions.
