As India accelerates its clean energy transition, Joint Solar has underscored the critical role of domestic manufacturing, product quality, and technology advancement in strengthening the country’s renewable energy ecosystem.
The company stated that the next phase of growth in India’s solar sector will be driven not only by capacity expansion but also by enhanced manufacturing capabilities, improved product standards, and greater customer confidence in locally produced solar solutions.
With over two decades of experience in the solar industry, Joint Solar manufactures solar panels across multiple technologies and operates two manufacturing facilities, including its flagship plant at Pilakhua near Hapur. The company currently has a manufacturing capacity of 1.3 GW and has completed more than five lakh installations across India.
According to the company, the growing emphasis on domestic manufacturing reflects increasing demand from customers, developers, and businesses seeking reliable solar solutions that offer long-term performance and operational dependability. Joint Solar believes Indian manufacturers will play a significant role in meeting rising demand while reducing reliance on external supply chains.
Commenting on the industry’s evolution, Vinod Sharma, Director of Joint Solar, said India’s solar sector has witnessed substantial growth and domestic manufacturing is expected to be a key contributor to the industry’s next stage of development.
“India’s solar sector has grown significantly, and domestic manufacturing will have an important role in the next phase. Customers today are looking for products that can deliver consistent performance over a longer period. As manufacturers, our responsibility is to maintain quality, adopt better technologies and build confidence around Indian-made solar products,” Sharma said.
He added that the company remains focused on continuous improvements in manufacturing processes and product innovation to address evolving industry requirements.
“The industry is changing quickly and manufacturers need to keep pace with new requirements. At Joint Solar, we continue to work on technology upgrades and product reliability while staying aligned with the changing needs of customers,” he added.
The company also noted that awareness and adoption of solar energy solutions have increased significantly in recent years, extending beyond metropolitan regions into smaller towns and emerging markets. Growing consumer awareness regarding the long-term economic and environmental benefits of renewable energy is contributing to wider adoption across the country.
Joint Solar’s in-house research and development team continues to focus on product enhancement and technology advancements to meet changing market dynamics. The company has regularly upgraded its manufacturing processes to align with customer expectations and industry developments.
As India’s solar market continues to expand, industry stakeholders are expected to place greater emphasis on domestic manufacturing capabilities, technological innovation, and quality-focused products. These factors are likely to play an increasingly important role as solar energy becomes a larger contributor to the country’s energy transition and sustainability objectives.
