NHPC Invites Bids For ₹259 Crore Transmission Line To Evacuate Power From 1.2 GW Jalaun Solar Park In Uttar Pradesh

NHPC Limited, a Government of India Navratna enterprise, has invited online electronic bids on behalf of Bundelkhand Saur Urja Limited (BSUL), a joint venture between NHPC and Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA). The tender has been issued to select eligible contractors for the development of a major transmission infrastructure project in Uttar Pradesh through a Domestic Competitive Bidding (DCB) process under a single-stage, two-part bidding system.

The project involves the construction of an approximately 80-kilometer-long 400 kV transmission line for the evacuation of power from a proposed 1,200 MW Solar Power Park located in the Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh. The transmission line will play a crucial role in transferring electricity generated from the large-scale solar project to the grid. The estimated project cost has been fixed at ₹259.22 crore, including GST. The selected contractor will be required to complete the work within a period of 24 months from the date of commencement.

According to the tender schedule, the bidding documents were made available for viewing and downloading from June 23, 2026. Interested bidders can submit their queries and seek clarifications up to July 1, 2026. To address bidder concerns and provide additional information, NHPC will organize a pre-bid conference on July 6, 2026, at its office complex in Faridabad. The meeting may also be conducted through an online platform if required.

The online submission of bids will begin on July 12, 2026, and close on July 20, 2026. The deadline for downloading tender documents is also July 20. In addition to online submissions, bidders are required to submit supporting physical documents, including the tender fee and bid security, to NHPC’s Contract (E&M)-II Division in Faridabad by July 21, 2026. Technical bids will be opened on July 22, 2026, while the date for opening financial bids will be announced later.

The tender document specifies a non-refundable fee of ₹10,000 and an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of ₹2.60 crore. NHPC has also outlined additional Performance Bank Guarantee requirements for subsidiary companies that qualify based on the financial or technical strength of their parent companies.

To participate, bidders must meet certain financial eligibility criteria, including an average annual turnover of at least ₹137.3 crore during the last two consecutive financial years and a minimum working capital of ₹21.6 crore. All bid submissions will be processed through the Central Public Procurement Portal, ensuring transparency and competitive participation in the project.
