Greenvolt Next Secures EPC Contract for 32 MW Solar Portfolio Across County Cork for Amarenco

Greenvolt Next, part of the Greenvolt Group, has been awarded a contract to deliver three utility-scale solar farms in County Cork, Ireland, for renewable energy developer Amarenco.

The projects are located in Carrigaline, Cobh, and Timoleague, and will be fully developed and constructed by Greenvolt Next under an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) mandate. The official sod-turning ceremony was held in Carrigaline, with all three solar farms scheduled for completion by mid-2027.

Once operational, the combined solar portfolio will deliver 32 MW of installed capacity, generating enough electricity to power approximately 38,000 homes annually. The land across all sites will remain under local ownership for future community use.

Amarenco, an Irish-founded European renewable energy company with over 200 employees, is leading project development and has integrated ecological restoration measures across the sites. This includes its ECHO soil health monitoring programme, aimed at improving soil regeneration, carbon absorption, biodiversity, and water retention.

Community Benefit Funds will also be established once the projects become operational, supporting local sports and development initiatives in surrounding areas.

Greenvolt Next will manage full EPC delivery, overseeing construction and execution across all three sites, further strengthening its role in utility-scale renewable infrastructure development across Ireland and the UK.

Speaking on the partnership, Owen Power, CEO of Greenvolt Next Ireland and UK, said the project will enhance regional energy security and help reduce exposure to energy price volatility through large-scale solar generation.
