NTPC REL Floats EPC Tender for 600 MW Solar PV Project in Maharashtra’s Dhule

NTPC Renewable Energy Limited (NTPC REL), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Green Energy Limited, has issued an online tender for the development of a 600 MW grid-connected solar photovoltaic (PV) power project in Dhule, Maharashtra. The project will be developed in two separate blocks of 300 MW each and will be awarded through a domestic competitive bidding process. The tender follows a single-stage, two-envelope system that includes techno-commercial and price bids, followed by a reverse auction process.

The project represents another major step in India’s ongoing renewable energy expansion and is expected to strengthen the country’s clean energy generation capacity. NTPC REL is seeking experienced Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contractors to undertake the complete development of the project.

According to the tender document, the selected contractor will be responsible for the entire project lifecycle. This includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar power plant. The scope of work also includes the direct supply of solar PV modules required for the project.

In addition to the core solar infrastructure, contractors will carry out various site development activities. These include land grading, vegetation clearing, topographical surveys, and geotechnical investigations. The project also requires the installation of tracker-based module mounting structures, construction of pre-engineered inverter rooms, and laying of high-voltage cables connecting the solar plant to the owner’s main pooling substation. After commissioning, the successful bidder will also be responsible for providing comprehensive operation and maintenance services for a period of three years.

NTPC REL has specified detailed qualification requirements to ensure participation from capable and experienced companies. Bidders must have previously commissioned grid-connected solar PV projects with a cumulative capacity of at least 40 MWp. At least one of these projects should have a capacity of 10 MWp or more and must have been in successful operation for a minimum of six months. Developers and industrial contractors from sectors such as power, steel, oil and gas, and other infrastructure industries may also participate if they meet the required financial criteria.

For bidders applying for a single 300 MW block, the minimum project execution experience required is INR 161 crore for Block 1 and INR 177 crore for Block 2. Companies bidding for both blocks must demonstrate project execution experience of at least INR 338 crore. Similar financial thresholds apply to the average annual turnover requirement over the previous three financial years.

The tender was officially issued on June 24, 2026, and bidding documents can be downloaded until July 3, 2026. A pre-bid conference and query submission process is scheduled for July 7, 2026. The deadline for submission of techno-commercial and price bids is July 22, 2026, at 3:00 PM IST, while the opening of techno-commercial bids will take place on the same day at 3:30 PM IST.

To participate, bidders must submit an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of INR 20 crore for each 300 MW block. NTPC REL has clarified that bids submitted without a valid bid security will be treated as non-responsive and rejected.
