Serentica Renewables Commissions 3 GW Renewable Energy Capacity Across India

Serentica Renewables has commissioned 3 GW of renewable energy capacity, achieving the milestone within 26 months of bringing its first renewable energy project online, the company announced.

The commissioned portfolio comprises a diversified mix of solar and wind projects located across India’s renewable energy-rich states. It includes more than 500 MW of wind capacity commissioned in Maharashtra and Karnataka, supplying clean electricity to commercial and industrial (C&I) customers.

According to the company, the 3 GW portfolio is expected to generate approximately 6 billion units of renewable electricity annually and help avoid nearly 5.6 million tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions each year. The milestone comes as industries across India increasingly adopt renewable energy to meet sustainability targets, improve competitiveness, and reduce carbon emissions.

Akshay Hiranandani, Chief Executive Officer of Serentica Renewables, said the achievement reflects the company’s execution capabilities, the confidence of its customers and partners, and the commitment of its workforce. He added that every commissioned project brings the company closer to its objective of enabling large-scale industrial decarbonisation through reliable and scalable clean energy solutions.

The company also announced plans to further expand its renewable energy portfolio by constructing an additional 3 GW of renewable energy and energy storage capacity, which is expected to be commissioned over the next 12 to 15 months.

Over the past two and a half years, Serentica Renewables has developed a renewable energy portfolio designed to serve energy-intensive industries, including metals, mining, manufacturing, and textiles. Through a combination of solar, wind, and energy storage technologies, the company aims to provide round-the-clock renewable power while helping industrial customers lower their carbon footprint and maintain reliable operations.

The latest milestone further strengthens Serentica Renewables’ position in India’s commercial and industrial renewable energy market and supports the country’s broader clean energy transition.
