AmpereHour Energy has inaugurated a new Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Manufacturing and Integration Facility in Chakan, Pune, marking its expansion into advanced energy storage manufacturing with a planned annual production capacity of 5 GWh.
The facility will focus on the integration of Make in India cabinet and containerized Battery DC-AC Blocks designed for utility-scale and commercial & industrial (C&I) energy storage applications.
According to the company, the manufacturing platform combines its hardware-agnostic architecture, proprietary Energy Management System (EMS), subsystem engineering, and advanced safety design with its digital quality management and product testing platform, AH-Suite (AmpereHour Factory Suite). The platform is designed to provide end-to-end traceability, performance validation, and streamlined deployment from factory to field.
AmpereHour Energy said its move into manufacturing builds on years of experience delivering complex BESS projects and has been driven by customer requirements for enhanced system performance, safety, reliability, and lifecycle management.
“Energy storage is becoming the backbone of the future grid, and India has an opportunity to lead not just in scale, but through technology-led innovation. Our expansion into advanced BESS manufacturing is built on years of experience as system integrators,” said Rahul Shelke, Co-founder and Managing Director of AmpereHour Energy.
The company stated that the new facility represents its transition from a BESS technology integrator to an advanced manufacturing platform focused on intelligent, digitally validated energy storage systems for both domestic and international markets. It added that the investment aims to strengthen India’s energy storage ecosystem through localized integration, engineering capabilities, and digital innovation.
AmpereHour’s BESS platforms are powered by its proprietary ELINA Energy Management System, which supports renewable energy integration, peak load management, grid flexibility, and long-term asset performance.
“For us, manufacturing was a natural progression of our journey as a BESS technology integrator. AH-Suite brings our field learnings into manufacturing by ensuring every system is digitally validated before it reaches site,” said Ayush Misra, Co-founder and CEO of AmpereHour Energy.
The company said the facility integrates engineering expertise, software intelligence, and digital validation into its manufacturing process to improve the performance and reliability of energy storage systems.
