MNRE’s 50th ALMM Revision Brings More Than 11.5 GW Of New Solar Module Capacity

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has issued the 50th revision (Revision-L) of List I under the Approved Models and Manufacturers of Solar Photovoltaic Modules (ALMM) Order, 2019. Released on August 3, 2026, by the Grid Solar Power Division in New Delhi, the latest revision introduces updates related to regulatory compliance, minimum module efficiency standards, corporate changes, manufacturing capacity additions, and revisions to the list of approved manufacturers.

The revised notification continues to enforce minimum efficiency standards for solar photovoltaic modules across different application categories. For Category-I, covering utility-scale and grid-connected power plants, the minimum efficiency requirement remains 20.00% for crystalline-silicon (c-Si) modules and 19.00% for Cadmium Telluride (CdTe) thin-film modules. Under Category-II, which includes rooftop solar and solar pumping systems, the minimum efficiency has been specified at 18.50% for c-Si modules and 19.50% for CdTe modules.

For Category-III, covering off-grid applications below 200 Wp, the notification prescribes a minimum efficiency of 18.00% under the separate ALMM List-I (DRE). Meanwhile, Category-IV, applicable to other solar applications, requires a minimum efficiency of 18.00% for c-Si modules and 19.00% for CdTe modules.

The revision also includes several corporate and administrative updates. Cosmic PV Power Private Limited and Saatvik Green Energy Private Limited have been renamed as public limited companies following changes in their corporate status. At the same time, SAEL Solar P6 Private Limited and HR Solar Solution Private Limited have been removed from the approved list due to the cancellation or expiry of their Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) registrations.

In another update, Credence Solar Panels Private Limited has revised the address of its manufacturing facility in Rajkot, Gujarat, while withdrawing 12 PERC solar module models that were previously enlisted in 2025.

The latest revision also records significant additions to India’s domestic solar module manufacturing capacity. Major capacity additions include Adani New Industries Limited with 4,781 MW per year at its Mundra, Gujarat facility, Goldi Sun Private Limited with 3,384 MW per year in Surat, RPSG Solvanta Private Limited with 1,354 MW per year in Jaipur, SLR Solar Private Limited with 1,020 MW per year in Ajmer, and Fujiyama Power Systems Limited with 1,014 MW per year in Gautam Buddh Nagar. New manufacturing entries have also been added for Poola Energy Private Limited, Veda Solar Private Limited, and Silver Consumer Electricals Limited.

MNRE has reiterated that the validity of every ALMM enlistment remains subject to an active BIS registration, and stakeholders are advised to verify the registration status through the official BIS online portal before procurement or project implementation.
