NVVN Invites 5 MW+ Buyers To Procure Solar Power From Operational NTPC Plants At INR 3.00–3.65/kWh

NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN), a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited and a Category-I Power Trading Licensee, has issued an Expression of Interest (EOI) to assess demand for solar power from operational NTPC solar power plants. The EOI, issued on August 11, 2026, under reference number NVVN/BD/C&I/EOI/2026-27, is aimed at commercial and industrial (C&I) consumers, bulk power buyers, distribution companies (DISCOMs), and other eligible open-access consumers across India.

The initiative seeks to understand the requirements of large electricity consumers, including their preferred power capacities, contract durations, supply arrangements, and commercial expectations. Based on market responses, NVVN intends to facilitate the supply of reliable and competitively priced solar power through short-term, medium-term, or long-term arrangements.

The EOI is open to a broad range of consumers, including industries such as aluminum, steel, cement, fertilizers, sugar, paper, chemicals, and petroleum refining. Data centers, IT parks, railways, metro rail systems, ports, airports, commercial establishments, registered trusts, and eligible consortia can also participate, provided they meet the required criteria.

Applicants must have valid GSTIN and PAN credentials and seek a minimum solar power capacity of 5 MW. NVVN has indicated an ex-bus solar power price range of Rs 3.00 to Rs 3.65 per kWh. Buyers may also benefit from Inter-State Transmission System (ISTS) waiver provisions, ranging from 75% to 100%, depending on the applicable grid connectivity and project conditions.

The EOI is primarily intended for market assessment and does not constitute a final power procurement contract. Consequently, no Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) is applicable at this stage. Similarly, no Performance Bank Guarantee (PBG) is required under the EOI. Final tariffs, security requirements, and contractual conditions are expected to be determined through subsequent bilateral negotiations or tendering processes and formal Power Supply Agreements.

The EOI document is available free of charge through NTPC’s GePNIC procurement portal. Interested applicants are required to submit completed application forms along with mandatory GSTIN and PAN details in soft copy through email to [nvvncontracts@ntpc.co.in](mailto:nvvncontracts@ntpc.co.in).

The response validity period is 180 days from the last date of submission. The opening date, query submission deadline, final submission deadline, and bid opening schedule will be communicated through the official GePNIC portal. Through the EOI, NVVN is seeking to build a clearer understanding of India’s growing demand for competitively priced renewable electricity among large power consumers.
