PCG Global, a clean energy platform focused on renewable energy infrastructure, has completed grid connection for its first greenfield 9.57 MW commercial and industrial (C&I) distributed solar project in Indonesia.
Located in Sulawesi, the project is expected to generate approximately 13 million kWh of green electricity annually for the offtaker. PCG Global said it leveraged PCG Power’s experience across more than 2 GW of investments, construction and operations while adapting its engineering and project delivery practices to Indonesia’s regulatory framework, grid conditions, climate and customer requirements.
The company implemented localized measures covering engineering quality, structural safety, rooftop design and operations and maintenance (O&M). During project acceptance, PCG Global conducted on-site visual and electroluminescence (EL) inspections and grid-connection testing to identify issues such as cell mismatch and micro-cracks. Factory rooftops requiring reinforcement were fitted with rigid diagonal bracing to improve structural stability and load-bearing capacity.
The project also uses non-penetrative adhesive mounting systems on trapezoidal rooftops to reduce leakage risks associated with drilling. Mounting structures have been positioned perpendicular to roof corrugations to reduce the risk of module displacement, while a decentralized rooftop inverter layout helps minimize DC cable lengths and associated energy losses.
PCG Global has deployed an intelligent O&M system featuring real-time monitoring, measurement, adjustment and control capabilities. Smart meters, sensors and communication modules track system performance, while meteorological data is used to compare theoretical and actual generation and optimize module cleaning schedules. Anti-reverse-flow meters and reverse-power protection can remotely shut down relevant inverters when reverse current is detected.
The project also incorporates a cloud-based video surveillance platform with AI-enabled recognition for intrusion detection and fire alerts, supporting safe and stable operations.
Li Wenxuan, Chairman and CEO of PCG Global, said the project demonstrates how distributed solar expertise can be adapted to local conditions in international markets. He added that the company aims to improve the long-term reliability and operational efficiency of renewable energy assets through localized engineering and digital O&M practices.
