Sungrow Tops Global BESS Integrator Ranking

Sungrow ranked first among global BESS integrators in Wood Mackenzie’s inaugural comprehensive ranking for the segment. The assessment focuses on factory-assembled, AC-integrated BESS solutions that combine batteries, power conversion systems (PCS), battery management systems (BMS), thermal management and control systems into an AC-connected product.

The ranking assesses suppliers based on their ability to deliver solutions across the full project lifecycle, including system design, commissioning and long-term operational support.

Ranked Among Leading Global Solar Inverter Manufacturers

Sungrow also secured the top position in Wood Mackenzie’s Global Solar Inverter Manufacturer Comprehensive Ranking. The assessment considers factors including manufacturing experience, production capacity, capacity utilisation, supply volumes, financial performance, ESG, after-sales services, R&D and third-party certifications.

Wood Mackenzie said the rankings are based on data collected through vendor surveys, public filings, proprietary databases and discussions with manufacturers.

Suppliers across both rankings were assessed against 10 key criteria, including technology maturity, R&D investment, safety, vertical integration, supply chain resilience, ESG performance and financial strength.

Its PowerTitan 3.0 platform is designed for utility-scale applications and supports grid-forming functions including black start, inertia support and millisecond-level voltage regulation.

The company has also secured a 7.5 GWh energy storage order with Masdar for a large-scale solar-plus-storage project in Abu Dhabi.

Sungrow said its energy storage portfolio incorporates safety features, streamlined commissioning and operations and maintenance services across the project lifecycle.

The company is also expanding its presence across Africa, with activities spanning markets including South Africa, Zambia and Namibia, alongside projects in other African markets. It said its growing portfolio includes high-capacity deployments across East and West Africa.
