NTPC Floats Tender For 1.3 MW Solar PV Modules For Ramagundam Power Station

NTPC Limited has invited bids for the procurement of 1,300 kWp of crystalline silicon terrestrial solar photovoltaic (PV) modules for the Ramagundam Super Thermal Power Station in Telangana. The tender has been issued through the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) by NTPC’s Western Region-II Head Quarter in Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh, under the Ministry of Power.

The tender, identified by Bid Number GEM/2026/B/7917791, was published on August 14, 2026. Interested bidders are required to submit their bids by September 4, 2026, at 4:00 PM. The technical bids will be opened on the same day at 4:30 PM. Bid offers must remain valid for 120 days from the bid closing date.

The procurement covers 545 W solar PV modules, with the total requirement amounting to 1,300 kWp. The selected supplier will be required to complete delivery of the entire consignment within 90 days.

NTPC has specified an Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) of Rs. 20 lakh for the tender. The EMD is to be submitted in favour of the General Manager (CPG-1 – C&M), NTPC Limited, with ICICI Bank serving as the advisory bank. Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) that are original manufacturers of the required goods are eligible for EMD exemption. However, traders are not eligible for this exemption.

The successful bidder will also have to furnish an electronic Performance Bank Guarantee (ePBG) equivalent to 5% of the contract value. The ePBG will be required for a period of 42 months, with ICICI Bank again designated as the advisory bank.

For technical qualification, bidders or their module manufacturers must have supplied solar PV modules with a cumulative capacity of at least 1,040 kWp. In addition, they must have completed at least one supply order of 260 kWp or more, with the supplied modules remaining operational for a minimum of six months before the bid opening date.

Financial eligibility requires bidders to have an average annual turnover of at least Rs. 189 lakh during the three completed financial years preceding the tender.

The tender highlights NTPC’s continued procurement of solar equipment to support renewable energy deployment across its power generation portfolio. The Ramagundam project will add to the growing demand for high-capacity solar PV modules in India’s utility-scale renewable energy sector.
