KP Group’s renewable energy portfolio has crossed 9.2 GW, with the group continuing to expand its presence across solar, wind, hybrid power, battery energy storage, power evacuation infrastructure and renewable energy trading.
Founded in 1994, the group has developed renewable energy assets through its listed companies, including KPI Green Energy Limited and KP Energy Limited. The companies have expanded their operating portfolios and financial performance in recent years as the group increases its renewable energy project pipeline.
KPI Green Energy’s total income increased from ₹104 crore in FY21 to ₹2,742 crore in FY26, while its profit after tax rose from ₹14 crore to ₹509 crore during the same period. KP Energy’s total income increased from ₹73 crore to ₹1,506 crore, while profit after tax grew from ₹6 crore to ₹181 crore over the same period.
KPI Green Energy currently has a renewable energy portfolio of approximately 6.94 GW, comprising 1.87 GW of installed capacity and 5.07 GW under execution. The company also has a land bank exceeding 8,650 acres and approximately 5.10 GW of power evacuation capacity.
KP Energy has developed capabilities across wind and wind-solar hybrid projects, covering wind-resource assessment, land acquisition, engineering, construction, commissioning, power evacuation and operations and maintenance. The company has delivered more than 1.57 GW of installed capacity and has a total renewable energy portfolio of approximately 3.73 GW, including around 2.16 GW of projects in hand and a 646 MW O&M portfolio.
The group has recently commissioned solar, wind and hybrid projects across locations including Khavda, Bharuch, Bhavnagar and Kutch. Its project portfolio includes developments for customers and public-sector entities such as GUVNL, Coal India, NTPC Renewable Energy, SJVN and MAHAGENCO.
KP Group is also expanding into energy storage and floating solar. KPI Green Energy has signed agreements covering 565 MW/1,130 MWh of battery energy storage capacity and is executing a 142 MWp floating solar EPC project at Kadana Dam in Gujarat.
The group has also strengthened its access to institutional capital. KPI Green Energy raised ₹670 crore through an externally credit-enhanced green bond issuance, which received an AA+(CE) rating. The issuance was also recognised at The Asset Triple A Sustainable Infrastructure Finance Awards 2026 in Singapore.
KPI Green Energy, formerly known as K.P.I. Global Infrastructure, was listed on the BSE SME platform in January 2019 through an IPO that raised approximately ₹39.94 crore. The company subsequently migrated to the BSE mainboard and listed on the National Stock Exchange in July 2021 before adopting the KPI Green Energy name in April 2022.
The company has also undertaken a series of corporate actions since its IPO, including bonus issues and a stock split. Based on the adjusted shareholding from these actions, the original IPO shares have increased in number over time.
With its renewable portfolio now exceeding 9.2 GW, KP Group is progressing towards its stated 10 GW renewable energy target by 2030. The group is expected to continue focusing on project execution, capacity additions, energy storage and the development of integrated renewable energy infrastructure.
