Bondada Engineering Sets Up Subsidiary For 225 MW/450 MWh BESS Project In Andhra Pradesh

Bondada Engineering Limited (BEL) has expanded its presence in the clean energy sector with the incorporation of a wholly owned subsidiary, Bondada Hindupur BESS Project Private Limited (BHBPL). The company disclosed the development to BSE Limited on September 2, 2026, as part of its regulatory requirements.

BHBPL has been established as a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to develop, own, operate and maintain a 225 MW / 450 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project in Andhra Pradesh. The project was awarded by AP Transco under the Build-Own-Operate (BOO) model and is aimed at supporting the state’s growing electricity requirements.

The proposed BESS facility is expected to strengthen grid stability and improve the flexibility of the power system. It will support peak-load management, grid balancing and the integration of renewable energy into the electricity network. The dedicated SPV will oversee key activities related to the project, including financing, procurement, construction, operations and maintenance.

For Bondada Engineering, the move represents an important expansion into the rapidly growing energy storage market. The company intends to leverage its existing infrastructure capabilities while developing a presence in grid-scale energy storage, which is becoming increasingly important as renewable energy capacity expands.

BEL has acquired complete ownership of BHBPL through a cash investment of ₹1 crore. The investment involved subscribing to 1,00,000 equity shares with a face value of ₹10 each.

According to the company, the transaction does not constitute a related-party transaction, and the required regulatory approvals for incorporating the subsidiary have been obtained.

The financial and operational performance of BHBPL will be consolidated into Bondada Engineering’s financial statements going forward. The development strengthens BEL’s clean energy portfolio and positions the company to participate in the expanding battery energy storage market in India.
