wpd windmanager GmbH & Co. KG said modern operations management increasingly involves ensuring technical availability and cost-effective plant performance while addressing regulatory and operational requirements. These include information security under the NIS-2 Directive, changes associated with EEG 2027, ESG reporting under the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), Redispatch 2.0 billing procedures, cable pooling, hybrid farm control systems and the integration of battery energy storage systems (BESS).

The company is presenting its operations management services at WindEnergy Hamburg in Hall A1, Booth 237. Its offering includes services intended to support wind and solar farm operators amid changing regulatory, technical and economic conditions.

Henning Rüpke, Director of International Operations at wpd windmanager, said operations managers are increasingly required to act as strategic partners by identifying developments early and developing solutions across multiple markets.

A key component of the company’s operations management activities is its ISO-certified 24/7 control center. According to wpd windmanager, the facility meets the requirements of the European NIS-2 Directive and monitors more than 2,800 renewable energy plants worldwide.

The control center’s activities extend beyond remote monitoring to include intrusion protection, grass-cutting management and coordination of plant shutdowns during periods of negative electricity prices.

wpd windmanager is also expanding additional services for renewable energy asset owners. These include municipal tax payments, emergency management plans, Redispatch billing procedures, and monitoring of balancing and replacement measures.

The company said the growing deployment of battery storage systems, hybrid renewable energy parks and evolving regulatory requirements are creating additional areas of responsibility for plant operators and operations management providers.

wpd windmanager currently manages more than 7.2 GW of wind and solar capacity. Its activities cover international renewable energy portfolios and involve collaboration with operators, investors, manufacturers and authorities across different markets.
