Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) has issued an official notification making a site visit mandatory for bidders interested in developing a 100 kW Rooftop Solar PV Power Project at the National Institute of Wind Energy (NIWE) Campus in Pallikaranai, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The requirement is part of SECI’s Request for Proposals (RfP) for selecting a project developer under the CAPEX mode for the RTSPV-C-T-II project. The tender is listed on the ISN-ETS portal under search code SECI-2026-TN000026.
According to SECI, all potential bidders must visit and inspect the project site before submitting their technical proposals. The visit will help bidders understand the existing site conditions, inspect available rooftop solar infrastructure, assess accessibility, and collect technical information needed to prepare their bids.
SECI has clarified that bidders will be responsible for arranging the site visit and bearing all associated costs and risks. After completing the inspection, each bidder must obtain a Site Visit Certificate in the prescribed Format 7.6.
A duly signed and stamped copy of the certificate must be submitted along with the technical bid. Failure to provide the required certificate could affect the bidder’s eligibility under the tender process.

The mandatory inspection is intended to ensure that bidders have adequate knowledge of the project site before finalising their technical proposals.
