ARRAY Technologies Opens $50 Million Solar Manufacturing Facility in New Mexico

ARRAY Technologies has opened a new manufacturing facility in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as the solar tracking technology provider expands its domestic manufacturing capacity in the United States.

The company has invested more than $50 million in the 216,000-square-foot facility, which is approximately three times the size of its previous Albuquerque site. The facility is expected to support around 300 jobs across production, assembly, design, engineering, customer service and other functions.

ARRAY, which was founded and headquartered in Albuquerque for more than 35 years, has deployed more than 100 GW of solar tracking systems globally. The new facility is expected to strengthen the company’s supply-chain capabilities, reduce delivery times and costs, and provide greater flexibility in serving customers.

The facility will allow ARRAY to bring the production of several components in-house that were previously sourced from external suppliers. Some of the components manufactured at the site qualify for the Section 45X Advanced Manufacturing Production Tax Credit, supporting the company’s U.S. manufacturing operations.

The facility was inaugurated during a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by U.S. Senator Martin Heinrich, Albuquerque Mayor Tim Keller, Bernalillo County Commissioner Barbara Baca, Solar Energy Industries Association CEO Tim Pawlenty, American Clean Power Association CEO Jason Grumet, along with employees, customers, suppliers and community partners.

The project was supported through a public-private partnership that includes $2.5 million from New Mexico’s Local Economic Development Act (LEDA) job-creation fund, along with $250,000 each from the City of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County. The project also received partial property-tax abatement through an Industrial Revenue Bond.

The LEED-certified facility has been designed to meet ARRAY’s current manufacturing requirements while providing additional capacity for future expansion across the company’s product portfolio.
