Trinasolar has supplied 184,328 Vertex N 695W solar modules for the 126 MW Sarimay Solar PV project in Uzbekistan’s Khorezm region. The utility-scale solar plant has been fully commissioned and is now supplying renewable electricity to the country’s national grid.
The Sarimay Solar project is part of Uzbekistan’s efforts to expand large-scale renewable energy capacity as the country targets a 40% share of renewable sources in electricity generation by 2030.
Construction of the project began in May 2024, with the plant generating its first megawatt-hours in November 2025 before completing commissioning. A 3-kilometre transmission line connects the solar facility to the national grid, enabling electricity supply to JSC National Electric Grid of Uzbekistan.
Located across approximately 180 hectares, the project is expected to generate around 252 GWh of renewable electricity annually. The generation is estimated to meet the electricity requirements of approximately 60,000 residents and avoid more than 140,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year.
Trinasolar Vertex N Modules Deployed
The Sarimay Solar project uses Trinasolar’s Vertex N 695W (NEG21C.20) modules, which feature n-type i-TOPCon cell technology and bifacial dual-glass construction.
The modules have been deployed for operating conditions in Uzbekistan, where high summer temperatures, significant seasonal temperature variations and exposure to sand and dust can affect solar plant performance.
According to Trinasolar, the modules feature a low temperature coefficient designed to reduce power losses under high temperatures, along with resistance to sand and potential-induced degradation. The modules are backed by a 30-year power warranty, compared with the project’s 25-year operating framework.
Elva Wang, Group Director of Southeast, South and Central Asia at Trinasolar Asia Pacific, said the Sarimay project demonstrates how Uzbekistan’s renewable energy ambitions are translating into operating solar capacity. She added that module efficiency, bifacial generation and long-term reliability are important considerations for utility-scale solar projects designed to operate over several decades.
The commissioning of Sarimay Solar adds to Uzbekistan’s growing utility-scale renewable energy portfolio and supports the country’s efforts to increase solar and wind generation as part of its 2030 renewable energy targets.
