Saxovent Renewables GmbH & Co. KG and HIH Real Estate GmbH have entered into a partnership to identify, develop, and implement renewable energy solutions across suitable existing real estate properties.
Under the partnership, the companies will assess the potential of existing properties, with a focus on available roof areas and infrastructure, to determine how renewable energy generation can be integrated into existing real estate strategies.
The partners will evaluate the energy requirements of individual properties and consider solutions beyond conventional photovoltaic systems. Depending on site conditions, the assessment may include battery storage, electric vehicle charging infrastructure, and heat pumps, alongside solar PV installations.
The collaboration aims to identify underutilized space within existing properties and develop energy solutions that are technically suitable and economically viable over the long term. The companies said the approach is intended to support property owners, tenants, and system operators while improving the sustainability of real estate portfolios.
Jan Steggewentz, Branch Manager and Head of PV Project Development at Saxovent Renewables, said the partnership would help systematically identify renewable energy potential within existing buildings and integrate sustainable energy concepts with existing structures.
Fynn Rotzoll, Project Lead PV Rooftop at HIH Invest Real Estate, said three joint projects are expected to enter the implementation phase in 2026, while additional projects are already under development.
The partnership comes amid increasing requirements related to energy efficiency, ESG performance, and energy security. Saxovent Renewables and HIH Real Estate plan to extend the collaboration to additional properties and locations in the future.
