UAE And Mongolia Sign MoU To Advance Renewable Energy And Green Hydrogen Cooperation

The UAE Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure and the Ministry of Energy of Mongolia have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to strengthen bilateral cooperation in renewable energy, green hydrogen and clean energy infrastructure.

The agreement was signed by Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, and Togmid Dorjkhand, Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia. The partnership aims to promote knowledge exchange, capacity building and the exploration of joint projects that can support the transformation and diversification of Mongolia’s energy sector.

Al Mazrouei said the MoU reflects the UAE’s commitment to expanding its international energy partnerships and developing practical cooperation based on Mongolia’s national needs and priorities. He highlighted Mongolia’s renewable energy potential and said the cooperation could contribute to energy security and sustainable economic development.

The UAE and Mongolia will explore opportunities to apply the UAE’s experience in clean energy development and project implementation to identify practical and scalable projects. The areas of cooperation include renewable energy, green hydrogen and related infrastructure, with a focus on projects that can support Mongolia’s development needs and diversify its energy mix.

The MoU also places emphasis on the exchange of technical knowledge and expertise between the two countries. Training programmes and capacity-building initiatives are expected to help develop specialised skills and strengthen institutional capabilities in the clean energy sector.

In addition, the two sides will explore economically and technically viable investment opportunities and encourage greater participation from the private sector. Cooperation between public and private entities will also be promoted to support the development of infrastructure required for renewable energy and other clean energy technologies.

As part of the agreement, the UAE and Mongolia will establish a joint working group to identify priority areas for cooperation. The group will assess the feasibility of proposed projects and opportunities and monitor their progress.

The new partnership marks a step towards deeper energy cooperation between the UAE and Mongolia. By combining the UAE’s experience in clean energy and project development with Mongolia’s renewable energy potential, the two countries aim to explore projects that support energy transition, strengthen energy security and contribute to long-term sustainable economic growth.
