The new operating mode provides real-time pile measurements, enabling installation deviations to be identified and corrected before concrete pouring while simplifying quality control for solar projects.
Amelia has launched Micropiling Mode, a new operating mode for Hincator designed for micropile installations in challenging ground conditions. The capability provides real-time measurements that enable crews to adjust each pile to its design coordinates before concrete is poured, helping prevent rework, delays and additional project costs.
Micropiling Mode combines hardware and software adaptations to extend Hincator’s quality-control capabilities to cast-in-place micropile installations. According to Amelia, the system can support the inspection of up to 350 piles in a single day and is designed for EPCs, IPPs, installers and QA/QC engineering firms.

The measurement process is straightforward. The operator places Hincator on the pile head and records its position in just five seconds, compared with the standard 15 seconds. The screen then displays, in real time, how the pile needs to be adjusted to reach its design position.
The system measures deviations along the X, Y and Z axes, as well as the pile’s rotation and its north–south and east–west inclination. Using these readings, the field technician can guide the installation crew as they adjust the pile to the required position.

The complete process — from initial measurement and adjustment to final verification — can be completed in under a minute. Once the pile reaches the correct position, the user can mark it again or repeat the measurement immediately after the concrete pour to verify whether any movement has occurred.
Amelia’s platform records each inspection and automatically generates the corresponding quality report, providing project teams with a digital record of installation quality.
Since Hincator was launched in 2025, Amelia customers across 15 countries have inspected more than one million piles and trackers, according to the company. The addition of Micropiling Mode extends the platform’s quality-control capabilities to solar projects using micropile foundations.
