NLC India Limited has announced the incorporation of a new joint venture focused on expanding green energy projects across India. The Navratna Government of India enterprise disclosed the development through a regulatory filing submitted to the National Stock Exchange of India and BSE Limited on September 17, 2026.
The newly incorporated company, NIRL PTC RENEWABLES LIMITED, has been established by NLC India Renewables Limited (NIRL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NLC India Limited, in partnership with PTC India Limited. NIRL will hold a 74% equity stake in the joint venture, while PTC India Limited will hold the remaining 26%.
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs issued the Certificate of Incorporation for NIRL PTC RENEWABLES LIMITED on September 16, 2026. The new entity is registered in Chennai and will operate from Neyveli, Tamil Nadu.
The joint venture is intended to undertake the development and establishment of green energy projects across India. The partnership brings together NLC India’s presence in the power and energy sector with PTC India’s experience in electricity trading and energy markets.
NLC India stated the development as part of its continuing efforts to expand its renewable energy portfolio and contribute to India’s clean energy transition. The company has been increasing its focus on renewable and sustainable energy projects alongside its conventional power operations.
The disclosure was made under Regulation 30 of the Securities and Exchange Board of India’s Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements Regulations, 2015. The incorporation of the joint venture provides NLC India with a dedicated corporate platform for pursuing green energy opportunities in different parts of the country.
The initiative is expected to support the development of additional renewable energy infrastructure and strengthen NLC India’s participation in India’s growing clean energy market.
