Advait Battery Ecosystem Private Limited, a subsidiary of BSE- and NSE-listed Advait Energy Transitions Limited, has entered into a Master Supply Agreement (MSA) with HiTHIUM for the supply of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) prismatic battery cells for its upcoming battery energy storage system (BESS) manufacturing facility in Gujarat.
Under the agreement, HiTHIUM will supply its 314 Ah LFP prismatic cells to Advait. The arrangement provides for cell offtake of up to 1 GWh over the next year and is intended to support the ramp-up of Advait’s planned 2.5 GWh annual capacity cell-to-container BESS assembly facility.
The agreement establishes HiTHIUM as a cell supply partner for Advait as the company develops its domestic BESS manufacturing capabilities for utility-scale and commercial and industrial (C&I) energy storage applications in India.
Advait’s BESS facility, located in Gangad, Gujarat, is being developed with capabilities covering cell sourcing, module and pack assembly, container integration, and system commissioning. The facility is scheduled to begin commercial production soon.
Bhushan Shahane, Chief Operating Officer, Advait Battery Ecosystem, said that securing a dependable cell supply chain is important to the company’s planned scale-up of its 2.5 GWh BESS assembly capacity. He added that the partnership is expected to support the development of cost-optimised energy storage solutions for customers in India.
HiTHIUM is a global manufacturer of energy storage battery cells and systems, serving utility-scale, C&I, and residential applications. The company’s 314 Ah LFP prismatic cells will form part of Advait’s cell-to-container BESS manufacturing ecosystem.
Expanding Domestic BESS Manufacturing
The agreement forms part of Advait’s broader strategy to establish an integrated BESS manufacturing ecosystem in India. The company is developing partnerships across different stages of the BESS value chain, including battery cells, engineering, energy management systems, and system integration.
Advait Battery Ecosystem has also entered into a strategic collaboration with Adaptive Engineering for engineering design, Energy Management System (EMS) architecture, PLC/SCADA, and system integration capabilities.
With the HiTHIUM agreement covering the cell supply side, Advait aims to combine cell sourcing with module and pack assembly, container integration, EMS capabilities, and system commissioning at its Gujarat facility.
The planned 2.5 GWh facility is intended to cater to utility-scale energy storage, C&I applications, and renewable energy integration as Advait expands its BESS operations from project-level deployment toward volume manufacturing.
Advait Energy Transitions, the group’s listed parent company, operates across areas including battery energy storage manufacturing, green hydrogen project development, electrolyser manufacturing, fuel cell manufacturing, and clean energy engineering, procurement and construction (EPC).
