Clean Kinetics, a Singapore-based solar energy developer, has started construction of a S$2.5 million solar photovoltaic project at Sats Thailand’s central kitchen facility in Pathum Thani province, around 40 kilometres north of Bangkok.
The project will feature a 3.27 MWp solar power system comprising approximately 5,000 solar panels. The panels will be installed across rooftops, carports, and ground-mounted areas within the facility. Clean Kinetics will be responsible for the complete project lifecycle, including design, equipment supply, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance.
Construction is targeted for completion by late January 2027. Once operational, the solar installation is expected to generate approximately 3.46 GWh of clean electricity annually. The electricity will be supplied to the central kitchen under a 25-year power purchase agreement, helping meet a significant share of the facility’s energy requirements with renewable power.
The project is also expected to deliver substantial environmental benefits. It is estimated to avoid around 2,300 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year. This reduction is equivalent to removing approximately 500 passenger vehicles from Thailand’s roads annually. Over the 25-year duration of the power purchase agreement, the project is expected to prevent more than 57,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.
The Pathum Thani facility is operated by Sats Food Solutions Thailand, a subsidiary of Singapore-listed Sats. The manufacturing hub covers approximately 35,000 square metres, equivalent to around five football fields. It serves as a regional production centre for aviation, retail, and food-service customers and has the capacity to produce up to 108,000 ready-to-eat and fresh-frozen meals each day.
The solar project forms part of efforts to increase renewable energy use across Sats’ operations and strengthen the sustainability of its Asian supply network. For Clean Kinetics, the project further expands its presence in South-East Asia’s clean energy market.
The company’s recent recognition at the Sustainability Impact Awards 2026 also highlights its growing focus on renewable energy solutions and sustainability-driven projects across the region.
