Saatvik Green Energy Limited has received the Best Environmental Projects Award at the 13th CII National Award for Environmental Best Practices 2026, recognising its sustainability-focused innovations in solar module manufacturing. The award was presented during a national event organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) on October 8–9, 2026, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu.
The recognition highlights Saatvik Green Energy’s engineering-driven initiatives aimed at improving resource efficiency, reducing material consumption and enhancing the environmental performance of solar photovoltaic modules throughout their manufacturing and operational lifecycles.
The award-winning projects focus on three key areas: aluminium frame optimisation, encapsulant development and round-ribbon design improvement. These initiatives were undertaken under the framework of Product Responsibility and Life Cycle Assessment, with the objective of reducing material intensity while maintaining solar module durability, reliability and energy generation performance.
Through aluminium frame optimisation, the company has worked towards improving material efficiency in module structures. Its encapsulant development initiatives focus on enhancing module design and performance, while improvements in round-ribbon technology aim to optimise material utilisation and manufacturing efficiency.
The projects were developed and implemented by the New Product Development (NPD), Production and Quality teams at Saatvik’s Ambala manufacturing facility. The teams carried out engineering design improvements, production trials and quality assessments to validate the effectiveness of the proposed changes.
According to the company, these initiatives demonstrate its commitment to integrating sustainability into product design and manufacturing processes rather than treating environmental responsibility as a separate operational objective.
Commenting on the achievement, Prashant Mathur, Chief Executive Officer of Saatvik Green Energy Limited, highlighted the growing importance of responsible manufacturing in India’s renewable energy sector. He stated that leadership in clean energy should be measured not only by the scale of manufacturing capacity but also by the efficiency and sustainability of production processes.
Mathur emphasised that the company’s approach focuses on reducing the environmental footprint of solar modules through engineering innovation, resource optimisation and improvements in manufacturing practices without compromising product durability or field performance.
He also acknowledged the contribution of the Ambala plant teams in developing and validating the award-winning projects, noting that their efforts demonstrate how practical engineering improvements can support both manufacturing competitiveness and environmental sustainability.
The latest recognition adds to Saatvik Green Energy’s growing list of sustainability and operational excellence awards.
The company previously received the 4th Prithvi Award 2026 from the ESG Research Foundation for Outstanding Sustainability Performance and a Bronze Medal from EcoVadis for its environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance.
Saatvik has also been recognised with the Golden Peacock Occupational Health and Safety Award 2026, while its Ambala manufacturing facility has received the CII-IGBC Green Factory Building Silver Rating for its sustainable industrial infrastructure practices.
These recognitions reflect the company’s broader efforts to strengthen environmental responsibility, workplace safety, resource efficiency and sustainable manufacturing across its operations.
As India continues to expand domestic solar manufacturing capacity, reducing material consumption, improving product lifecycle performance and adopting environmentally responsible production technologies are becoming increasingly important for the renewable energy industry.
Saatvik Green Energy’s latest achievement highlights the role of engineering innovation in improving the sustainability of solar module manufacturing while supporting the development of a more resource-efficient domestic clean energy supply chain.
The CII award further reinforces the company’s focus on integrating product innovation, manufacturing efficiency and environmental responsibility into its long-term growth strategy, contributing to India’s broader renewable energy and sustainability objectives.
