Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited reported a significant improvement in profitability for the first half of fiscal year 2027, supported by growth in its order book, strong project wins, and expansion of its operations and maintenance business. The company announced its financial results for the second quarter and half year ended September 30, 2026, highlighting its recovery from the losses recorded in the previous financial year.
For the first half of FY2027, the company reported a profit after tax (PAT) of ₹70 crore, compared with a loss of ₹439 crore in the corresponding period of the previous year. During the second quarter, the company recorded a profit of ₹17 crore and revenue of ₹1,527 crore, reflecting continued progress in its business operations.
The operations and maintenance (O&M) segment also delivered strong growth during the reporting period. Revenue from the segment increased 48% year-on-year to ₹183 crore in the first half of FY2027, compared with ₹124 crore in the same period last year. The company’s O&M portfolio expanded from 13.5 GW in March 2026 to 18.9 GW by September 2026, strengthening its recurring service business and long-term operational presence.
Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy’s order book also recorded substantial growth, increasing 34% year-on-year during the first half of FY2027. Its unexecuted order book stood at ₹12,480 crore, providing visibility for future project execution and revenue generation. The company secured new orders worth more than ₹985 crore across domestic and international markets, supporting its business expansion.
Among the key project wins was a 534.3 MWp solar power project in Rajasthan. The company also secured two battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in South Africa, with a combined capacity of 616 MWh. In Egypt, it is involved in the West Minya Solar Power Project through a joint venture with Hassan Allam Construction.
These project wins reflect the company’s growing presence across solar power and energy storage markets. Its expanding order pipeline also indicates continued demand for renewable energy engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) services in India and overseas markets.
The company attributed its progress to improvements in operational efficiency, disciplined project execution and an expanding business pipeline. With a larger unexecuted order book, a growing O&M portfolio and additional energy storage opportunities, Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy is positioning itself to strengthen its business performance in the coming quarters.
