Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) has reported strong operational and financial performance for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2026, supported by renewable energy capacity additions, higher electricity generation and improved financial returns. The company continued to expand its solar, wind, hybrid and battery energy storage portfolio during the first half of fiscal year 2027.
AGEL’s total operational renewable energy capacity increased by 24% year-on-year to 20,763 MW in H1 FY27. The company added 4,083 MW of greenfield capacity during the period, with new solar, wind and hybrid projects becoming operational across key locations, including Khavda in Gujarat and Rajasthan. These additions strengthened its renewable energy portfolio and supported the growth of electricity generation and sales.
Battery energy storage also remained an important part of the company’s expansion strategy. During the second quarter of FY27, AGEL operationalised 3,081 MWh of battery energy storage system (BESS) capacity at its Khavda renewable energy site. This brought the company’s total installed BESS capacity to 6,632 MWh. The expansion is expected to support the integration of renewable electricity into the grid and improve the ability to manage fluctuations in power generation.
The increase in operational capacity contributed to higher energy sales during the first half of FY27. AGEL sold 25,747 million units of electricity, representing a 32% increase compared with the corresponding period of the previous financial year.
The company also recorded growth across its key financial indicators. Revenue from power supply increased by 36% year-on-year to ₹8,299 crore during H1 FY27. EBITDA from power supply rose by 41% to ₹7,957 crore, while cash profit increased by 35% to ₹4,176 crore. AGEL maintained an EBITDA margin of 93% for the half year, reflecting its operating performance and cost management.
The company attributed its performance to large-scale project execution, technology-driven operations and real-time asset monitoring through its Energy Network Operations Center. Its Khavda renewable energy development continued to contribute to capacity expansion and operational efficiencies.
AGEL’s environmental, social and governance performance also received international recognition. FTSE Russell ranked the company number one globally in the alternative electricity subsector for the second consecutive year.
The results highlight AGEL’s continued focus on renewable energy expansion, battery storage deployment and operational efficiency as it strengthens its position in India’s clean energy sector.
