SJVN Reports INR 1,417 Crore Q2 Revenue And INR 737 Crore Standalone Net Profit In FY27

SJVN Limited, a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise, has reported strong financial performance for the second quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2026, supported by higher revenue from operations and continued expansion of its renewable energy portfolio. The company’s unaudited financial and operational results were approved by its Board of Directors during a meeting held on October 30, 2026, in New Delhi.

For the second quarter of the financial year 2026-27, SJVN recorded standalone revenue from operations of ₹1,416.99 crore, compared to ₹942.03 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The increase reflects improved financial performance during the reporting period. The company reported standalone net profit after tax of ₹736.73 crore, while its consolidated net profit stood at ₹657.72 crore.

The company’s financial performance was partly supported by regulatory developments concerning its hydroelectric assets. The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) granted provisional tariff approvals for major power stations, including the Nathpa Jhakri and Rampur Hydro Power Stations. These approvals also included adjustments relating to previous periods, contributing to the reported financial results.

Alongside its financial growth, SJVN continues to strengthen its position in India’s renewable energy sector. The company has identified clean energy development as a major component of its long-term growth strategy, with investments across solar, wind and other renewable energy segments. Its renewable energy expansion is being driven primarily through its subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), which is responsible for developing and implementing several clean energy projects across different states.

SGEL is also expanding its operations through joint ventures and subsidiary companies, including SGEL Assam Renewable Energy Limited. These initiatives are aimed at increasing renewable energy generation capacity and supporting India’s broader targets for clean electricity development. The company’s strategy focuses on diversifying its energy portfolio while reducing its dependence on conventional power generation sources.

However, SJVN is also undertaking strategic adjustments to its existing project portfolio. During the reporting period, the company classified the assets and liabilities associated with the 3,097 MW Etalin Hydro Electric Project under the category of ‘Disposal Group Held for Sale’. This follows the Ministry of Power’s decision to reassign the project to NHPC Limited.

Meanwhile, SJVN continues to advance construction activities and infrastructure development across its ongoing hydropower and renewable energy projects. The company is managing capital expenditure, borrowings and debt-equity requirements while maintaining engagement with regulatory authorities and state governments. It is also continuing discussions with the Himachal Pradesh government regarding project implementation agreements.

With its improving financial performance and expanding renewable energy investments, SJVN is focusing on strengthening its generation portfolio and improving operational efficiency. The company aims to balance its established hydropower business with new clean energy opportunities while supporting India’s energy transition and delivering sustainable long-term value to stakeholders.
