MNRE Orders DRC To Take Decision On Disputes Between Developers And Govt Power Agencies

The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) has recently passed a notification that the Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) should consider the unforeseen disputes between solar or wind power developers and the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECl) or National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC).

This committee will take decisions of dispute which are beyond contractual agreements.

The Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) will be permitted to hold meetings with a minimum of two members.  

The following order is passed with the approval of the Hon’ble Minister (NRE & Power).

Recently, the Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE)

has issued a notification stating that it is setting up a committee to review the issues with the ‘Approved Lists of Models and Manufacturers’ (ALMM) of solar photovoltaic (PV) modules.

This decision came after representations received from various RE stakeholders.

The committee will consist of Addl. Secretary  (Chairman), Joint Secretary (Solar), Joint Secretary (Wind) of MNRE, Director (Solar) of SECI and one representative from Solar Power Developers’ Association (SPDA).

The Committee will make recommendations on the manner and date of implementation of ALMM Order and submit its report within 15 days of its constitution, the Ministry stated.
