Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) announced the name of the members of the Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC). The DRC committee is formed to resolve disputes between solar or wind power developers and Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) or National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC).
Consequent to the appointment of A.K. Dubey as Administrative Member of Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT), the composition of Dispute Resolution Committee has been changed and the new list of members are P. K. Basu, (former Agriculture Secretary), Rakesh Kacker (former Food Processing Industries Secretary) and M.F. Farooqui (former DOT Secretary/ Heavy Industry Secretary).
On 13th July, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) passed a notification that the Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) will consider the unforeseen disputes between solar or wind power developers and the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECl) or National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC).
This committee will take decisions of dispute which are beyond contractual agreements.
The Dispute Resolution Committee (DRC) will be permitted to hold meetings with a minimum of two members.
The following order is passed with the approval of the Minister (NRE & Power).
In June, Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) passed an order in regards to formation of Project Development Cell (PDC) with the aim of attracting investments in India.
The main two objectives of Project Development Cells (PDCs) is to create projects with all approvals, land available for allocation and with the complete Detailed Project Reports for adoption/investment by investors and to identify issues that need to be resolved in order to attract and finalize the investments and put forth these before the Empowered Group.
