EESL has recently signed a MoU with Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (Rinl) for carrying out feasibility studies & subsequent implementation of ground-mounted solar projects on vacant lands & floating solar power projects on reservoirs in Vizag, Visakhapatnam.
This decision was made by EESL to promote RenewableEnergy in India.
In February EESL announced plans to set Up Decentralised Solar Projects Worth 1.5 GW By 2021.
EESL recently completed 10 years and It’s enforced initiatives have aggregately led to a reduction of more than 46 million tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions and energy savings of more than 58 billion kWh across the globe. During the event Saurabh Kumar, Managing Director said that Energy Efficient Services Ltd (EESL) has forayed into solar power generation and By the end of 2020-21 it plans to set up 1.5 GW of decentralized solar power plants across the country.
“EESL has already operationalized 100 MW out of 800 MW of solar power which was mandated by the Maharashtra government and Rajasthan has given EESL the mandate to set up 113 MW of solar distributed generation projects,” Kumar added.
In January, In a move to accelerate its clean energy initiatives and enable more environmental benefits, Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) has entered into a MoU with New & Renewable Energy Development Corp. of AP (NREDCAP) for implementation of 50 MW solar power projects.
The company further announced to have successfully commissioned 2860 kW solar power plant in Pathra, Maharashtra to enable uninterrupted daytime power supply for farmers and reduce T&D losses for DISCOMs.
