The adoption of this transport model creates an industrial precedent in the solar trackers logistics process and reveals advances in the efficiency and volume of shipments for Arctech Solar’s international orders.
An exemplary milestone is the shipment of the first batch of SkyLine trackers for a 20 megawatt solar project in Chile, whose 42 containers left Changzhou in eastern China and left the Chinese borders from the port of Yangshan, located in Shanghai Almost 25% of the domestic ground logistics cost of the entire project was saved.
This is the result of three months of intensive work by Arctech Solar with the China International Marine Containers group. Together they solved the problem of unbalanced container loading without increasing packaging costs or impacting loading efficiency. Delivery time is significantly shorter due to improved logistics efficiency, especially when solving various problems such as bottlenecks during public holidays and being able to locate and dispatch the right vehicles on time. Arctech Solar has optimized its logistics chain and implemented intermodal transportation in response to logistical restrictions and increased costs caused by COVID-19.
