Shirdi Sai Electricals Wins IREDA Bid to Set Up 4000 MW Solar Module Plant

Shirdi Sai Electricals Limited (SSEL), announced that it has bagged the Letter of Award (LoA) from The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Limited (IREDA) for setting up Manufacturing Capacities for High-Efficiency Solar PV Modules.

The new project will be operated under the Production Linked Incentive scheme (PLI), floated by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).

The company had participated in the bid invited by IREDA for setting up manufacturing facilities for high efficiency solar PV modules and won it for a capacity of 4000 MW, said the company statement.

CEO of SSEL, Sharat Chandra, said that this Letter of Award will catalyze their journey in the future, and added that they are committed to creating a clean environment for future generations.

SSE is one of the leading and largest distribution transformer manufacturers and EPC contractor in India. The company has also installed more than 80,000 kilometers of LT and HT transmission lines and has worked on many complex turnkey projects in both domestic and international markets.

IREDA under the MNRE has invited bids from solar module manufacturers for setting up solar manufacturing units under the central government’ Rs. 4,500 crore PLI scheme. MNRE has appointed IREDA as the implementing agency for the scheme. The Union Cabinet had approved Rs. 4,500 crore scheme to boost domestic manufacturing of solar Photo Voltaic modules.
