Sungrow Completes The Construction Of 600 kW Floating PV In Vietnam

Sungrow completes the construction of a 600 kW floating PV in Hanoi, Vietnam. The solar plant powers Vinhomes Ocean Park which is built in the outskirts of the city and comprises of a residential area.

Sungrow Power Supply Co., Ltd. (Sungrow) is the world’s most bankable inverter brand with over 182 GW installed worldwide as of June 2021 based out of China.

A company spokesperson said, “The solar panels were installed with a tilt angle of five degrees and the anchoring was made with deadweight block anchor[s]. This solution was friendly to the water body and lake bed, which has a depth of five meters, and maintained the original landscape.”

Sungrow provided 182 mm solar panels and each of these has a power output of 540 W. The power project will provide power to the park, the local community, and also offer an attractive landscape.

Sungrow has deployed approximately 125 MW of floating photovoltaic capacity in Vietnam. The country till 2020 had 2 large-scale floating photovoltaic plants with the capacity of 70 MW (35 MW each). The facilities are located on the Tam Bo and Gia Hoet 1 irrigation lakes, Quang Thanh, Chau Duc.
