Egypt receive offers to use renewable energy for seawater-desalination projects said the minister of electricity and renewable energy of the country. The Minister didn’t reveal the name of the companies.
Mohamed Shaker met Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and other officials for discussing the same. The ministry is currently evaluating the prices of various companies which it received.
As the population is rising, the demand for water is also growing and the country is working on new ways to preserve water. Egypt received threats of a decrease in the supply of water from the Nile because of Ethiopia’s Renaissance Dam.
Egypt is working on various projects for water desalination. This will support in reducing the carbon footprints of the country and using renewable energy for such projects. The country has allocated around 7,650 sq. km of unused land for renewable energy projects.
