“Now 70% of our energy comes from fossil fuel sources, notably oil and coal, but we are going to gradually decrease this share,” said Chana Poomee, vice-president of Cement and Green Solution Business.

SCG generates 200 MWs of electricity just from solar power for its Cement and Building Materials and Petrochemical Business. The Cement and Building Materials Business targets to have 97 MW of floating and on-ground solar farms to reduce its carbon emissions by 75,000 tonnes annually.

The company plans to decrease its coal usage by around 50% and achieve net-zero targets by 2050. The company also uses bio-mass and electric vehicles to decrease its carbon footprints.

SCG, a leading business conglomerate in the ASEAN region, has committed itself to conduct business in line with good corporate governance and sustainable development principles throughout 100 years.
